Unexpected Surprise- an Exclusive Interview with the one and only Naeto C

I started this blog because I’m a big Naeto C fan and to share my admiration for him with the few people in the UK that don’t know him yet. It has been a very exciting day for me today and I would like to share that with you. Not expecting anything, I contacted Naeto and his management about an interview and to my surprise I got it. You got to love Naeto C, always in touch with his fans. Here is this exclusive interview- Enjoy!

Me: How is your tour going right now?

Naeto C: It has been great so far, the only challenge is that I have been trying to balance that with other gigs, but overall it has been great so far.

Me: Any plans to tour internationally soon?

Naeto C: Within Africa, yes, outside Africa, probably later. However, I will still be out of Africa for a number of bookings but not within the parenthesis of my tour.

Me: How was it collaborating with Asa?

Naeto C: It was a great experience, fulfilling and exciting. The end product was more than I expected and it is a major driving force that pushes the album beyond my previous works. It also helps balance the general contents of the album.

Me: Any future collaborations that we should know about?

Naeto C: I like to keep secrets and surprises.

Me: How important is it for you to combine traditional Nigerian influences with the contemporary urban scene?

Naeto C: It’s very important because my identity also constitutes to my unique selling point. Above and beyond an artist, like myself, draws from traditional Nigerian influences to create points of connection between myself and my audience, especially Nigerians and Africans.

Me: Who are your musical inspirations and/or influences?

Naeto C: I would say Jay-z

Me: Tell us about Fashion Week in Nigeria where you performed with Estelle and Tinie Tempah.

Naeto C: I did not perform with either of them on the same day; however, I liked the idea of the whole thing. I heard Estelle did her thing and Tinie tore the place apart. I had a show in Kano so I did not get to enjoy their performances.

Me: I have noticed that you are very active online, how important is it for you to connect and stay in contact with your fans?

Naeto C: Every artist is different but for me it is extremely important to utilize social-networking media to keep my consumers/fans at bay and maintain a consistent level of communication. This will play a big role towards attaining the next level of growth in my career.

Me: Where is the best place for your fans to buy your music?

Naeto C: I would say online but not everyone has an Internet connection let alone credit card. My team is working on a distribution solution so people can get my music in stores. So, for the mean time the Internet is probably the best way for people in the UK to get my music.

Me: Do you have a message for your UK fans?

Naeto C: Yeah, I need my UK fans to get online and buy the album, iTunes, Amazon, Yahoo etc., join my Facebook fan page, follow me on twitter @naetoc.
